    ELECTRONIC JOURNALS
    Astrophysical Journal
Astrophysical Journal Letters (ApJL) electronic edition is available via the American Astronomical Society Web site (http://www.aas.org/ApJ/) from January 1, 1995 to the current issue, which is still available online about 30 days before the cover date. The full Astrophysical Journal (AJ) was to appear online this fall, but the Web site now says "at the end of 1996".

    New Astronomy
New Astronomy, Elsevier Sciences' new electronic journal appeared online the end of August. The journal will be free of charge on the Web site (http://www.elsevier.com/locate/newast) through the end of 1996. The online edition will have movies, tabular material and color images not available in the paper format. The 1997 subscription price will be US$366 for: "unlimited access to the WWW edition for all scientists at the subscribing institute, the paper edition, [and] the electronic edition for Local Area Network application". A reduced rate to small institutes is available upon request. Further information can be obtained through the publisher.

    Astronomy and Astrophysics
In September, Springer-Verlag, Inc. announced LINK, their new Print & Electronic Journals Program. Electronic editions of more than 180 Springer journals, including Astronomy and Astrophysics, are currently in preparation and will be "linked" to the print editions. Springer is waiving the access fee to these electronic full-text editions for institutional subscribers for 1997. For further information, contact your subscription agent or Springer-Verlag: Bob Badger, Director, Electronic Development or see the Web site: http://www.springer-ny.com.

[The Web site does not address questions about cost, access, IP addresses, etc. brought up by European researchers and others last spring (see August PAM BULLETIN). Also, Marlene Cummins says she's seen that Astronomy and Astrophysics Supplement Series, published by Editions de Physique, will be available electronically "free" with institutional print subscriptions in 1997, but the price has gone up from 4500FF to 4800FF.]

    Science
Starting in late September, 1996, Science Online, began carrying the full text and graphics of all scientific Articles and Reports from Science magazine on their Web site (http://www.sciencemag.org/). From November, 1995, they have been providing Table of Contents and Editorials in full text, with abstracts or summaries of Articles, Reports, and News items. All are searchable by author, title, subject, or words in abstracts. Free access will last through 1996. Check their Web site for information on 1997 subscriptions (nothing yet on institutional subscription rates).

    GEMINI NEWSLETTER
From Cathy Van Atta, National Optical Astronomy Observatories: The latest issue of the Gemini (8-meter telescope project) Newsletter was sent out in late June with new glossy cover and no date or number. It is actually number 12 and the date should be June 1996. The next one in December will have the date and be number 13.

    ATNF NEWS
ATNF News (http://www.atnf.csiro.au/About/News/) is the official newsletter of the Australia Telescope National Facility (ATNF). It is published three times a year, on 15 April, August, and December. The ATNF News contains a range of articles on observatory activities, major project updates, research programs, and information for ATNF telescope users. The newsletter is published in Adobe Acrobat format, with full text articles, graphs, and images. The first two issues are available in HTML format, and the earliest available issue dates back to August 1995. Editor: David Mar; Email: wwwcomment@atnf.csiro.au

NRAO BIBLIOGRAPHY OF HIGH-ALTITUDE MEDICINE AND PHYSIOLOGY
National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) is pleased to announce the availability on the Web of the Bibliography of High-Altitude Medicine and Physiology. This list of ~4700 references on high altitude physiology, mountain sickness, hypoxia, etc., is compiled by Rob Roach, Charles Houston, Peter Hackett, and JP Richalet, and mounted on the Web by NRAO with the permission of the compilers. The Bibliography is searchable by author, editor, title, and citation. The version NRAO has mounted is the most recent, from late 1995, and the next update is expected around February 1997. The URL for the Bibliography is: http://www.nrao.edu/aoclib/highalt.html

Addendum: 13 Aug 96, from Liz Bryson to Astronomy Librarians: Liz Bryson still has a link entitled Altitude Exposure on her library homepage. She cross-checked the articles with the NRAO bibliography and several of them were not listed. These will be forwarded to one of the authors, Robert C. Roach, for the 1997 update; however, some of the articles are in-house, and will require Dr. Roach's contacting the various authors for permission to include in his bibliography. At this point, Liz will continue to maintain her own list. Contact Liz for more information.

ESO LIBRARIES CATALOG ON THE WEB
11 Oct 96, from Uta Grothkopf, ESO (European Southern Observatory) Library: We are pleased to announce that the ESO Libraries catalog is now available on the World Wide Web. Please visit the WebCat at URL http://www.eso.org/libraries/webcat.html or access it via ESO's homepage (http://www.eso.org), from here go to "Libraries" / "ESO Libraries Catalog and Databases" and into the catalog. The catalog also continues to be accessible via telnet (telnet libhost.hq.eso.org).
