Students participating in the Summer London Program
are housed in flats in the Clerkenwell area of London, less than three
miles from the London Centre facility. While many students walk to classes,
most use the buses or underground available as part of London's transportation
system.
All the flats are fully furnished and have open plan living areas with
fully equipped modern kitchens with facilities including microwaves and
dishwashers. Each student is supplied with two sets of bed linens and
towels. Facilities within the accommodation include areas dedicated as
study space, and onsite laundry facilities. Weekly cleaning and maintenance
is carried out by Acorn's own staff. The accomodation benefits from a
24-hour emergency service. Two to five students occupy a flat.
The properties are situated in the heart of London's Clerkenwell district,
approximately a 40 minute walk from Notre Dame's Suffolk Street site.
The accomodation is within walking distance of a range of extensive amenities,
including west end shopping and areas such as Covent Garden and London's
theater district. Bloomsbury, Russell Square and Holborn are all near
by and have an abundance of high-end boutiques and parks.
The property is also located a short walk from main rail, underground
and bus links. Farrington is the nearest tube station which is on the
Metropolitan, Circle, Hammersmith and City Lines. Farrington also provides
an over-ground station. Several other tubes are located near the
accomodation including Russell Square and Chancery Lane. |
