Prerequisite: EE 456 (Data Networks) or equivalent
Suggested reading:
Topics covered:
  • the wireless channel and its impact on higher layers
  • wireless ad hoc networks: challenges, models, and protocols
  • quality of service, channel access, and routing in wireless networks
  • wireless network technology and standards
  • emerging technologies (such as W-CDMA, ultra-wideband, smart antennas, virtual antenna arrays)
Projects: Presentations and one research project. Topics will depend on the students' interests.
Exams: Midterm and final exam (oral)
Grading: Homework: 10%
Midterm: 15%
Presentations: 15%
Project: 30%
