Rev. Gregory P. Haake, C.S.C.

Vice President for Mission Engagement and Church Affairs

Rev. Gregory Haake, C.S.C., was appointed as the Vice President for Mission Engagement and Church Affairs in 2026. Previous to this role, he served as the religious superior of the Holy Cross priests and brothers at Notre Dame from 2024-2026. Fr. Haake is also an associate professor of French and Francophone Studies in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures. He works at the intersection of literature, politics, and religion in sixteenth-century France.

Fr. Haake earned his undergraduate and master of divinity degrees from Notre Dame, as well as an M.A. from Middlebury College and a Ph.D. from Stanford University. Ordained a priest in 2007, he joined Notre Dame’s faculty in 2015. He also serves as the priest-in-residence in Coyle Hall.
