Mike Donovan | University of Notre Dame

Mike Donovan was appointed vice president and chief investment officer in 2020. Mike is responsible for overseeing the university’s investment portfolio, the largest component of that being the endowment. Mike’s mandate includes oversight of portfolio construction, adherence to investment policy guidelines, asset allocation and risk management.   

Prior to his current position, Mike spent 23 years in Notre Dame’s Investment Office, where he most recently served as managing director of private equity investments. Previously, he practiced corporate law and co-founded a successful educational products company. 

Mike serves as a director or advisor to numerous charitable organizations. Mike holds a B.B.A. in finance from Notre Dame, a J.D. from the UCLA School of Law, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
