Mr. Patrick Brown: Instructor

 

Patrick Brown is a 5th Dan in Moodukkwon Taekwondo. He also has his 2nd Dan in Hapkido. He is a former Indiana State Champion and has been training in the sport for over 21 years. His most notable instructors have been Grand Master Il Kwon Kim, a 9th Dan in Taekwondo, Grand Master Chung Il Kim, a 9th Dan in Taekwondo, and Sun Woong Park, a 5th Dan in Taekwondo. He has trained in Karate, but he always knew that his true passion was for Taekwondo. When asked why he preferred Taekwondo to other martial arts, he replied that it was a "complete" martial art. He says he enjoys instructing at Notre Dame because he respects the high caliber of the students. According to him, it "makes teaching a breeze".

Patrick grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana and graduated from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he received a four year letter in varsity swimming. His degree is in Business with a concentration in Finance. After graduation, he worked for Fidelity Investments; however he recently decided to change career paths and become a full time dad. He has been married for 7 years, and has moved to South Bend because his wife is now the Director of Financial Aid for Saint Mary's College. He has two sons, Sean who is 3 and Ryan who is 2. Also residing in his house are two beautiful dogs, Geronimo and Chatto.
