Taking the Lid Off: Providing Educational Opportunities for High Ability Students in Indiana http://www.iag-online.org/ Scroll down the Indiana Association for the Gifted's web pageto see the link to an article which I believe should be required reading for anyone (parent, educator) interested in gifted education in Indiana. Be prepared: it builds a compelling case for services for high ability students, but these recommendations were not passed in the legislataure. It would be interesting to go back to the Education Committee for Indiana's General Assembly and find out what has changed since this report was written.
