Tutor Talks

One of the best ways for instructors to encourage students to take advantage of the Writing Center is by scheduling a Tutor Talk, where a tutor will take about 10 minutes to tell your class about what we do and don't do at the Writing Center.

By the end of the Tutor Talk, your students should:

  • Understand that the Writing Center is for everyone--we help writers of all skill levels develop their talents.
  • Know where we are and how to make an appointment.
  • Have an opportunity to ask questions or express concerns.
  • Feel comfortable making an appointment because they've heard from students themselves how useful this can be.

We invite you to bring your class to the Writing Center for a Tutor Talk or have a tutor visit your class.

To schedule a Tutor Talk, send an e-mail message to us at writing@nd.edu with the following information.

  • Your name
  • Your course title and time
  • Number of students in class
  • First and second choice of dates for Tutor Talk
  • Perferred time of Tutor Talk
  • Whether you'd like to take your class to the Writing Center or whether you'd like to have a tutor visit your class

Please wait for confirmation. We'll make every effort to accommodate your request.
