Matthew Capdevielle is Director of the University Writing Center. He studies rhetorical theory and composition pedagogy, focusing on the ways that intersections between rhetoric and ethics can be used to enhance writing instruction in various venues, including writing centers and classroom-based writing programs at the college level. He is co-author, with Michael Bernard-Donals, of an essay entitled “Bakhtin, Ethics, Rhetoric” (Russian Journal of Communication, 2008) and is currently at work on a project examining the formation of academic writing culture. When he is not in the Writing Center or teaching in the University Writing Program, he enjoys exploring Michiana by bicycle with his family.
