Abstract Writing

Successful abstracts clearly and succinctly state the methods, results, and contributions of your original research.  Your abstract must introduce readers to your work in 350 words or less, so you have little space for ornate language, dense theory, lengthy quotations, or personal style.  Abstracts are often skimmed by readers, so focus on presenting your ideas in direct language with logical transitions between points.  For examples and advice on abstract writing, see the following links:
