2007 Student Parent Leadership Conference

TRiO DAY

SATURDAY             MARCH 10, 2007 

UNIV OF NOTRE DAME McKENNA HALL

ITINERARY

8:30 am

The conference will begin with registration, a continental breakfast, and a college fair.  Parents and students will have the opportunity to visit various college booths and speak with admission representatives. 

10:00 am

Opening session with keynote address.

11 am - 12:50 pm

Students and parents will participate in 2 concurrent workshop sessions. 

1:00 pm

Awards Luncheon.  Students will be recognized from each program.  The award categories are:  Attendance, Citizenship, and Most Improved.  A male and female from each program should be selected.

College Fair Participants: Saint Mary's College, Davenport College, IU South Bend, Notre Dame, Holy Cross, and Ivy Tech.

 

Keynote Speaker:  Cleo Washington    Mr. Washington is currently practicing law with the AT & T Corporation in Indianapolis.  He is a former State Senator, South Bend City Council Member, and an alumnus of the Notre Dame Upward Bound Program.

Ceceily Brickley, Tyler May and Leif Wahlen will present on diversity, dispelling stereotypes by learning good communication and people skills.

Raven Mallard, Chyna McBride and Greg Wilson will present a "Game of Life" forum.  What could happen if you don't get a high school diploma? What could happen if you get a bachelor's degree?
