Project Location:

The new addition to the existing Law School is located directly south of the existing building on a site once occupied by the campus post office.


Project Description:

The addition is three stories plus a partial basement totaling 85,500 square feet. The materials and overall design compliment the original Law School building. The construction in the existing building includes a total of 107,000 square feet to be renovated for use by the library, admissions and career services.

 

Project Status:

With the faculty and staff now at home in the new facility, the landscaping has commenced with the onset of spring.  In the existing building, the interior demolition  is well underway and there are new walls being constructed in many areas where demolition has completed.  Additionally, the mechanical and electrical systems are in the process of being reconstructed and redistributed throughout the new spaces as the walls are placed.  The renovation of the existing building is scheduled to be complete by June 2010.

Construction Begins on Harper Hall

Harper Hall is a new facility being built for cancer research.  The University of Notre Dame and Indiana University School of Medicine have combined financial and construction administration resources to design and build this addition to Raclin Carmichael Hall at the south edge of the Notre Dame Campus.  The new 72,000 gross square foot facility will provide cancer research lab space, histology lab, tissue culture labs, microscopy lab, cold room, warm rooms, research faculty offices, graduate student offices, conference/meeting room spaces, a multi-purpose room, and a shelled basement for future research growth, including space for an NMR device.
