Helpful information available regarding life at the Village has been put together by one of our residents who is also a South Bend native and currently a Village Staff member. Her website can be found here, and covers not only life in the Village but all sorts of useful information about moving to South Bend.
Because all our residents have at least one family member attending Notre Dame, and often have one or more (sometimes even five) children, the Village has a rich community life built on our common experiences.

In some ways, the Village is like a university dormitory, with residents divided up by family rather than by small groups of students. The University sponsors events and activities in the Village throughout the year, and a Holy Cross priest provides the sacraments for Catholic residents. The University shuttle stops at the Village throughout the day to take residents to other parts of campus. Like the undergrad halls, we even have a Village t-shirt.
Although we have provided links here to more specific information about the official happenings at the Village, the most important aspect of life at the Village is the daily community life that takes place out on the playground, in the gardens, at building parties or cookouts, and during games on the field surrounded by the apartments. This is difficult to capture with a simple description, which is why we've included testimonials from past residents.
