COMMUNITY CENTER

The Village Community Center, built in the Spring of 1997, is available for the use and enjoyment of the families of University Village and Cripe Street Apartments, and is a popular place especially in the colder months. Many of our Village events take place here, and residents may also reserve the community center (including its fully equipped kitchen) for private gatherings and party events free of charge. The office is open Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM and can be reached by calling 631-9145.

The center is keyed so that apartment keys will open the front, center doors. The Center is open for use from 6:00 A.M.- 12:00 Midnight (Sunday-Thursday) and until 1:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.

Besides stopping in to say hello to the staff, residents take advantage of a number of amenities at the community center. Residents in the Village collect their mail here. There is a TV lounge with cable and a VCR/DVD player, a dining room, and a fully equipped kitchen. There is also a very popular toy room, a music practice room with an upright piano, and a ping pong table. The Blessed Sacrament is reserved in a small chapel next to the multipurpose room, where Mass is held each Sunday.

Residents can also use the office fax machine and copier free of charge or borrow a sewing machine or vacuum cleaner. In warmer weather, residents make use of picnic tables and a barecue grill in the back.

For more pictures of the community center, go here to the website of the office of residence life and housing.
