Great Lakes Regional Championships

The Notre Dame women’s B team also competed in Regionals. They lost to Loyola-Chicago 13-5 and then went on to face the number one team in the tournament, Michigan. Although the girls lost 13-2, they embraced the positives, including an upwind break against the premier Michigan squad. Pool play continued with a game against Indiana, where the women narrowly lost 12-8. Sophomore Courtney Iversen had great leadership once again while sophomore Kari Chen fought through injury to help aid the team. The women fell to Purdue 10-6 and to Illinois State 13-7, but competed in nearly every game in pool play.

In the seventh place bracket, the team lost to North Park 12-3, but then defeated Kalamazoo in the eleventh place game. In only their second year as an organized squad, the Notre Dame women’s B team came away with valuable experience to use for the future by competing in the regional tournament.
