The women’s B team played Ohio State, Wellesley and South Florida in pool play. They suffered a tough loss to Ohio State, who eventually finished second in the tournament. The women rallied against Wellesley but couldn’t quite find a rhythm, losing 13-1. Sophomore Betty Graham and junior Stef Zipf continued to fight through and made solid catches and dump throws. In their final game of pool play, they nearly defeated South Florida but faced a 9-7 loss.
On Sunday, the “Don’t Be Last” bracket proved easier for the women’s B team to conquer. They went undefeated for the day, defeating West Georgia and Florida State-B to finish the tournament on a positive note. Sophomore Andrea Palazzollo showcased her skills as a handler while freshman newcomer Kim Kowalski made smart cuts to preserve the disk. With all of their players participating in future tournaments, the women’s B team hopes to have a strong showing in the upcoming months.
