Guidelines for Paper Submissions
- The submission deadline for the 2011-2012 Journal is January 16, 2012.
- The author must have completed the submission for the College of Arts & Letters in the 12 months before the deadline.
- The author must specify the major department (i.e. History, FTT, PLS) for which he/she wrote the paper. This department need not represent his/her own major; the distinction serves only to organize papers according to appropriate subject areas.
- The author must not simultaneously submit his/her paper to another peer-reviewed academic journal. Please submit only one paper per year.
- The editors will consider the admittance of group submissions on a case-by-case basis.
- The submission should be around 20-40 pages in length and represent the author's unique, research-based scholarship. It should be revised and proofread fully. In doubt about whether you should submit your paper because of the page requirements? Submit the paper!
- All submissions must be submitted via email to ujournal@nd.edu according to the following specifications:
- Insert a page at the beginning of your paper with the following information: your name, your email address, paper title, department to which you are submitting, and the date of your submission;
- Include page numbers;
- Citations may be in any format, but if chosen for publication, we will reformat the citations according to Chicago Style rules; thus, any footnote numbers linking text to notes should be software-generated, not manually written;
- Remove your name from the text of your paper (including headers/footers) with the exception of the information page described above.
