The Show: A Growing Tradition
Starting seven years ago in 2001, The Show has grown into one of the biggest on-campus, student-run and organized events. Each year the bands are bigger, the sound is louder, and the concert is better!
The Show began as Flipstock 2001, a concert held in the Joyce Center Fieldhouse and sponsered by the Office of Alcohol and Drug Education. The following year, The Show was officially conceived by the Office of Student Affairs and through work with the Student Activities Office has become the biggest concert held on the Notre Dame campus.
Over the past few years, The Show has grown into one of the premier events in the first week of classes, drawing bigger and better acts every year. The Show 2003 was held in the JACC Arena, the first student-run concert to be held there in over 25 years. The concert is open to all Notre Dame, St. Mary's, and Holy Cross students with the idea of unifying the campuses in one of the most exciting, entertaining events of the academic year.
The Show is chaired and run by Notre Dame, St. Mary's, and Holy Cross students who come from many areas of study and who each bring something unique to the committee. This year, The Show 2008 hopes to generate even more excitement and participation between the three campuses, as well as put on the best show yet!
