Places to Know

Of all the buildings on campus, these are the five buildings you should know.

North Dining Hall
You'll probably eat most of your meals in NDH. There are plenty of choices (sandwiches, pasta, mexican, make-your-own stirfry and pizza, just to name a few.
South Dining Hall
South is the other Dining hall on campus, but it's a bit of a hike from Cavanaugh. It's bigger and older than North, but it has most of the same things. The two dinging rooms will remind you of the dining hall in Harry Potter. Reckers is open late and a great place for after SYRs to get a drink or a pizza. Reckers is located on the south side of South Dining Hall.
LaFortune (LaFun)
The student center is right next to Cavanaugh. It houses Student Government, the Student Union Board, the Women's Resource Center, and many other student organizations. The first floor has a Burger King, Subway, Starbucks, the HuddleMart convenience store, the Information Desk (where you can buy tickets for campus events), TV lounges, and plenty of seating for studying and eating. The basement has the University Hairstylists, a FedEx copy shop, Anthony Travel, Irish Gardens, Sbarro, a computer lab, and even more seating!
DeBartolo
This is the building in which you'll probably have most of your classes. It's fairly new, having been built in 1992, and it's about a 10-minute walk (5 if you hurry). Other popular classroom buildings include O'Shaughnessy, Cushing/Fitzpatrick, Mendoza, Jordan, and Bond Hall. As your classes become more specialized, these separate into Arts and Letters, Engineering, Business, Science, and Architecture respectively.
Coleman-Morse (CoMo)
This is the building in which First Year Studies is housed (first floor) and Campus Ministry (first floor). CoMo is a great place to study as evident by the huge study lounge with popcorn and soda machines. The second floor, home to the FYS, has the FYS advisers, the Writing Center, and tutoring or any other help you need or want to volunteer for. There are a few classrooms but not many.
