Appointments for International Clients
International visitors come to Notre Dame with many different circumstances (immigration status, length of stay, etc). These differences are factors in determining which tax laws and forms apply to each visitor. In turn this means there are several possible return preparation scenarios and the task is to determine which return preparation service is appropriate for each visitor.
The Tax Assistance Program (TAP) asks all taxpayers to start this short process before requesting a tax appointment. This ADP or Appointment Determination Process will sort out who should prepare the taxpayer's tax returns. It also will indicate who a taxpayer should contact for specialized help before an appointment is set, if that would be necessary.
The ADP gathers your answers to its questions by opening in sequence 5 additional screens. For each screen, answer the questions, then press NEXT. When screen 5 has been reached and answered, press the SAVE button, which begins the return process to this screen. The screens will direct you to close them by pressing SAVE buttons in reverse screen order (5, 4, 3, 2, 1).
To begin the Appointment Determination Process, press the START button below. After the last SAVE button has been pressed, use the DETERMINE APPOINTMENT button on this page to display and print the report. Follow all its instructions.
