Annual Events

Through out the year a number of TAKE TEN events take place:

TAKE TEN Bookmark Competition
:
Children in participating schools and community centers/organizations create and design TAKE TEN bookmarks, an activity sponsored by Teachers Credit Union. A winning bookmark is chosen from each participating school and community center/organization. Each bookmark has the name, school and grade of the child who designed it on the back. The winning entries are then color copied, laminated and handed out to each child at the participating school or community center/organization. Click here to view select 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 bookmark winners.

TAKE TEN Poster and Creative Writing Competition:
Children are given the opportunity to design a TAKE TEN poster or write a poem, short story or essay on TAKE TEN and the impact that it has had on their school. A winning entry is chosen from each category and participants then get to present their entries at the Notre Dame Undergraduate Peace Conference. The overall winning poster then becomes the design for the new TAKE TEN t-shirt, which is sponsored by Notre Dame Federal Credit Union. Click here to view previous T-shirts.

TAKE TEN Festival:
All the children, together with their teachers and TAKE TEN volunteers, who participated in TAKE TEN during the year are invited to the Festival, which is held at the University of Notre Dame. The new TAKE TEN t-shirt is handed out, and the children participate in an afternoon filled with fun and games. Click here for photographs of the 2006-2007 Festival.
