Welcome to the Thomas Aquinas Society
The St. Thomas Aquinas Society (TAS)* brings together Catholic Graduate students and those students interested in Catholicism.  Build you spiritual peer support here at Notre Dame with other graduate students.

We attend Mass weekly and then meet together as a group afterwards for lunch.  In the past we have read the Catechism.  We are also trying to plan other social events for uniting Catholic Graduate students.  Contact Joey if you would like to learn more or to be put on the email list (tac@nd.edu).  Also, let us know if you have any other ideas.

The focus of this group is to unite Catholic Graduate Students; however, all are welcome, non-catholics, undergrads, etc.

More information about Mass
  1.
General Communion info for non-Catholics:
At the time of Communion, non-Catholics have two options:
  1. 1.Remain seated while other receive communion, and pray, meditate, etc.
  2. 2.Come up for a blessing by the priest: go up in the same communion line with everyone else. Once you get to the priest distributing communion, fold your hands across your chest.  This will signal that you will not be receiving communion and the priest will give you a blessing.

At Mass, often there are Catholics who choose not to receive communion for various respectful reasons.  So Non-Catholics are not the only ones who do not receive communion.
