So, if
you are thinking about post-baccalaureate education, and feel you
have the talent and background to compete at the highest levels,
why not check out a few of these valuable opportunities.
The under
each college on the home page of this site indicates a selection
of competitive post-baccalaureate scholarships and fellowships available
to graduating seniors. The following is a list of competitive post-baccalaureate
scholarships and fellowships. The list is not exhaustive and, in
some cases, not reserved solely for graduating students going on
to graduate study. Interested students are strongly urged to look
through the Harvard College Guide to Grants, available in 103-B
O'Shaughnessy Hall, for a more complete listing of scholarship and
fellowship availability.
IMPORTANT
NOTE: While many of the scholarship opportunities listed here are
field specific, several are not. For instance, the Rhodes/Marshall,
Mellon, Fulbright, Soros, Harriman, etc. Are available more widely.
All students should look through the listing under the College of
Arts and Letters as well as those that fall under their own college
to ensure they are aware of these more general and not just the
specific opportunities.
All students
interested in applying for a competitive scholarship and/or fellowship
should bear several important considerations in mind. Careful and
strategic thought must be given to
1) an effective personal statement
2) an appropriate and significant research proposal or statement
of academic intentions
3) soliciting letters of recommendation
4) working with a faculty representative or sponsor on your application
5) awareness of application deadlines
6) ensuring the application package is complete and professional
7) securing appropriate documentation when necessary; i.e. transcripts,
test scores, etc...
Further information about scholarship and fellowship opportunities
will be available in the Dean's office of the various college. In
addition, there will be a post-baccalaureate scholarship and fellowship
web site which will be updated regularly with the most recent information.
That address is 102-B O'Shaughnessy Hall.
