Q: Who are Kaneb RET students?
A: Notre Dame offers a number of courses for high school teachers during Summer Session. These courses are in the area of science. Teachers conduct research as part of these Kaneb RET courses.
Q: How do I apply and register for an RET course?
A: High School Teachers apply online via the traditional non-degree Summer Session application at: http://www.nd.edu/~sumsess/apply_application.html. For detailed instructions on this process for non-Notre Dame students click here.
Q: How does an RET student obtain housing and a meal plan for Summer Session?
A: Housing arrangements are on an individual basis. Information on summer housing and meal plan applications is available on the Summer Session web site (http://www.nd.edu/~sumsess/) under the Cost/Fees link.
Q: How many credits do students receive for an RET course?
A: RET courses are typically zero credits. However, the student can take the course for credit by requesting so on their application.
Q: How does a student obtain a parking pass for the summer?
A: Motor vehicle registration is $42.00 for the Summer Session 2009 semester. To obtain parking privileges, students must register vehicles at the Parking Services Office in the Hammes-Mowbray Building immediately upon arrival at Notre Dame. The Parking Office is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Students who arrive outside these hours should obtain a pass from the Main Gate or the East Gate, then park in an assigned student lot and register the vehicle at the earliest opportunity. For further information, please contact Parking Services within the Notre Dame Security Police Office website.
