Registration and Enrollment information
2010 Information will be available in March, 2010.Registration:
Notre Dame Continuing students:Notre Dame degree-seeking continuing students (i.e., students who attended Notre Dame during the Spring semester of 2010 and who are eligible to continue their studies during the Fall semester of 2010) must register for summer session courses through insideND. Registration begins Wednesday, March 17, 2010 and continues through the course add and drop dates published in the bulletin.
Non-Notre Dame Summer Students:
If you attend Notre Dame only during the summer, you may apply and register for courses through the Application Form. Selection of courses is subject to the approval of the department in which they are offered. Once you have been admitted, you may drop or add courses using the University’s registration system on insideND, according to the add and drop dates printed for each course.

Students who wish to register for courses that begin during the first week of the summer session (June 22-25) must do so no later than Friday, June 25, 2010. Late registration of students for courses that begin during the first week of the session must be authorized by the Director of the Summer Session. No student will be allowed to register for a course after the “add” date published, with the course description, without permission of the Director of the Summer Session.

Enrollment:
All students must web enroll through insideND each semester.Enrollment is the third step in admission to the summer session and is independent of the application or registration (course selection) process. All students, including Notre Dame continuing students, must enroll at the beginning of classes using the University's “Web Enrollment” process through insideND.
After registering for at least one class; Notre Dame continuing students, and summer-only students who have applied and have received notification of admission, may web enroll beginning on May17, 2010. To web enroll go to insideND and select the “Student Academic” tab. Then, within the "Registration Tools" channel, select "Web Enrollment."
To access insideND, Summer-only students must first obtain a NetID and password by accessing https://accounts.nd.edu/activation.
All financial accounts for the summer session and for any previous semester(s) for which there are unpaid charges must be settled at the time of enrollment, before beginning classes. This is a pre-condition for maintaining registration and participating in summer session courses.
Enrollment deadlines for the Summer Session:
Students who have registered for courses that begin during the first week of the summer session (June 22-25) must enroll no later than Friday, June 25, 2010. Late enrollment of students for these courses must be authorized by the Director of the Summer Session. Once a student has received authorization for late enrollment, he or she can enroll using the web enrollment process.
Any summer-only student who has applied to the summer session for courses and has not received official notice of admission, and any student who has not yet applied, must report to the Office of the Registrar, 105 Main Building, before attempting to enroll or pay fees.
Enrollment for Special/Short Courses:
Students who have registered for courses that begin before or after the first week of the summer session (June 22-25) must web enroll by the first class day. Students need to enroll only once, even if they are taking courses that begin before or after the first week of the summer session.
Enrollment deadlines for Independent Study:
Students registered for any form of independent study—i.e., special studies courses, directed readings courses, or thesis or dissertation research—may web enroll as early as Monday, May 17, 2010.
The enrollment process will take students through the following steps:
- enrolling or not enrolling;
- graduation information (this appears only in the semester a student is eligible to graduate, which is based upon credit hours);
- checking address information (updating in some circumstances);
- requesting privacy restrictions on address and phone information;
- FERPA privacy information; and
- confirmation of successful enrollment.
