
Our Initiatives
Here is the rundown on some of our top initiatives...
1) National Advocacy for Human Rights
- Make Notre Dame the premier forum for nationally- recognized events uniting athletes, entertainers, and policymakers on behalf of human rights
- Model the flagship series on Live AID and Live 8
2) Expand Constituent Service Capacity of Student Government
- Return tradition of Quarter Dogs
- Increase printing quota for undergraduate students
- Investigate opportunities to expand Domer Dollars to off- campus sites such as Eddy Street Commons
- Advocate for increased variety of flavor options for frozen yogurt in the dining halls
- Appoint a new Director of Constituent Services
3) Improve Student Safety
- Increase the number of lights in poorly lit areas of campus
- Build relationships and communication channels with local law enforcement officials
- Advocate for “Emergency Clause” during fire alarms
- Continue to fund and promote the Transpo 7A Route
- Pursue available opportunities for taxi reform
4) Enable Students to Customize Our Curriculum
- Create a program to explain funding opportunities for travel, research, and scholarship opportunities through the Center for Undergraduate Scholarly Engagement
- Develop formalized process for creating a major or minor across colleges, and allow students to pursue majors created by others to the maximum extent possible
- Create a space on campus that would serve as a place for students and faculty to meet in an informal setting over drinks after class hours
5) Amplify Student Voices in Charting a Course for the Notre Dame Project
- Set a university goal of achieving carbon emission reductions that will put us on a trajectory to achieve a 70% decrease from 2005 levels by 2050
- Work to end hunger in our shared South Bend community
- Expand inclusion in the Notre Dame family
