This overnight visit began with a stop at Yardenit (Jordan River baptismal site) to meet up with a group of students from Augustana College.  The group then visited the Church of the Beatitudes for an overview of the Sea of Galilee, then visited three hominid cave sites in Nahal Amud (this included the site of the earliest hominid fossil find for the region).  During the remainder of the 2 day visit, the Notre Dame group also drove into the Golan Heights, visited Banyais, Tabgha, Capernum, the dolmans at Gamla, and drove along the Syrian border.
