Need to keep this project from being a meaningless statistical gathering exercise
Discussion of how results should be presented
Consensus that it is impossible to benchmark every process in every unit. Group will provide overview of operations and then examine certain operations in depth. Future years will allow other areas to be reviewed.
A set of common statistics (numbers of students, building square footage, general financial data) needs to be available
Prior to the next meeting:
Jim Lyphout will be consulted on some issues
Departments will discuss benchmarking issues
A LISTSERV will be established to facilitate minutes, agenda and discussion by group members and other interested parties
Web page will be updated as needed
A 1996 Notre Dame Fact Book will be made available to members.
The next meeting of the group will be on March 17, 1997 at 2:00 p.m.
