MISSION

The Center for Social Concerns of the University of Notre Dame facilitates community-based learning, research, and service informed by Catholic Social Tradition.

Through the Center, learning becomes service to justice. The Center for Social Concerns is an institute at the University of Notre Dame. It reports to the Office of the Provost.

BUILDING JUSTICE

Throughout the 2011–12 academic year, the Center for Social Concerns’ courses, events, and other efforts will work on building justice in the world. In 1971 the World Synod of Bishops issued Justice in the World. This statement emphasized the need for Catholics to be action oriented and to work through ecumenical and interfaith efforts to build sustainable justice and peace. [more]
