Rosie R. McDowell, M.N.A.

 

Rosie McDowell is the director of International Community-Based Learning Outreach. In this role she collaborates with the Office of International Studies, faculty and staff abroad, and internationally focused units on campus to develop and support community-based learning opportunities for students while studying abroad. McDowell supports faculty who wish to incorporate engaged pedagogy to their courses with an international focus. She facilitates the Center’s justice education team and student service and social action clubs to develop awareness and promote student leadership on international social issues.


McDowell previously directed the Center’s outreach efforts developing student leadership for service and social action, collaborated with the Institute for Latino Studies to offer the Latino Leadership Internship Program and facilitated the community-based learning sections of the First Year Composition courses with the University Writing Center and local agencies.

Prior to joining the Center staff, McDowell was the community-based learning coordinator at LOGAN Center and co-directed the Notre Dame foreign study program in Angers, France. She earned her BA in French and Economics from Notre Dame in 1993 and her Master of Nonprofit Administration degree from Notre Dame in 2007.
