Joanie May

Joanie May is the office coordinator for the Center. In this role, she is responsible for coordination of multiple activities and requests for the Center. She coordinates rental vehicles used by University students and professors for service, experiential learning projects, and community based learning. Joanie schedules the use of the Center's facilities for meetings, lectures, and various events as requested by University faculty, staff, and students. She also recruits, hires, trains, and supervises student workers who are responsible for a variety of daily duties.

A native of California, Joanie has also lived and worked in Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. Prior to her position at the Notre Dame and the Center for Social Concerns, Joanie worked as an administrative coordinator of First Year Studies for Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. She is the proud “Grammy” of two delightful granddaughters who fill her days with joy and laughter.
