Ashbaugh
Education Center
The Snite Museum of Arts educators endeavor to interpret
the museums collections for diverse university and community
audiences through tailored touring programs, outreach activities,
teacher inservices, and special events designed to enrich
visitors understanding of our shared humanity and our
place in a changing world.
The
Education Department was recently relocated to the Ashbaugh
Education Center. Previously gallery space, it now provides
the museum with ample space to educate its visitors. The center
boasts a large collection of art and art history books, and
teaching materials in its Resource Library. Adjacent to the
library is a large area available and equipped for presentations,
meetings, youth art lessons and more.
Another
exciting addition to the center is an area for the docents
in the Docent Program
to relax, reference material, and take care of business with
the Education Department.
The
center also houses office space for the Curator
of Education-Public Programs, the Curator of Academic
Programs, the Curator of Native American Art, and their staff.
