Touring
Programs
Each year over 9,000 K–12 students are served through
the Snite’s touring programs. The educators at the Snite
Museum of Art at the University of Notre Dame are eager to
assist you in using the museum as a resource for your classroom.
We offer many docent-led tours that correlate with the classroom
curriculum and the Indiana State Standards.

We encourage drawing with pencil in the galleries, and we
are happy to supply materials and include this with any scheduled
tour. Tours should be arranged at least two weeks in advance
by calling Curator of Education, Public Programs, Jackie Welsh
at 574-631-4435, or the tour desk , 574-631-3093. There is
no charge for a tour. You may request a docent-led tour, or
you may choose to teach your class in the museum.
*Foreign language tours can be arranged by calling the Curator
of Education, Academic Programs, Diana Matthias at 574-631-4718.
Although the museum does not have facilities for meals, the
University campus offers a variety of venues at nearby La
Fortune Hall, where you can find Burger King, Subway, Starbucks,
etc., and there are also locations on campus if you choose
to bring your own bag lunches. If you want to combine a museum
tour and campus tour, please call the Eck Visitors’
Center; there is a small fee for a campus tour. If you need
