Mission:
To give SIBC members the opportunity to put their ‘class learnt’ or ‘self-researched’ accounting theory into challenging real world accounting application. Projects encourage them to gain experience and make contacts that will help them put the Council's vision into practice.

PROJECTS SPRING 2009

1. Ernst & Young

Meeting Time: 6:30pm in Debartolo 205

Project Description: The E&Y project with focus on researching FASB 141R and 160 which were recently added this year. The team will investigate their main provisions, and what effect they will have on future mergers and acquisitions.

2. KPMG

Meeting Time: 7:30pm in Debartolo 205

Project Description: The KPMG project will be investigating the impact of foreign exchange rate changes on multi-nationals given the significant movements in rates - Illustrating the underlying economic conditions in different countries (for example, the British pound has lost significant value against other currencies lately given their dire economic conditions).
