DIRECTIONS  (from ND Classroom Building):  Take the train from London's Paddington Station to Swindon.  At the Swindon Rail Station, catch the #49 bus (Swindon, Devizes, Trowbridge line).   Ask the driver to stop at the Red Lion Pub at Avebury (it will be obvious, you drive past some of the large standing stones as you enter the villiage).   As you face the pub, you will see large standing stones to your right.  Follow the line of stones around to the site Museum.  It is worth purchasing the site booklet to have a copy of a map of the major landmarks.  The map illustrates a footpath to Silbury Hill and West Kennet Long Barrow (a large burial mound you can enter).

There is also a bus that runs from Victoria Coach Station to Swindon  (half the price, twice the transport time).   The directions from Swindon remain the same.
