Volunteers are welcome to use their own cars to drive to their Special Friend's home.

For students who don't have a car on campus(and many Special Friends volunteers don't!), the Notre Dame Center for Social Concerns allows students to borrow cars for service activities. The program is very easy to use and provided to students at no expense.

It entails attending a short training session at the beginning of the year, and then filling out a form at the beginning of the semester to request your time slot. You do not need to fill out a new form each week unless you change the time of your service.

The CSC generally holds several training sessions at the beginning of the semester, but attendance is usually mandatory.
