First experiments with the RIBF facility at RIKEN

Among the three new facilities with a large variety of high intensity radioactive beams that are presently under construction, the RIBF facility at RIKEN was the first to deliver beam about a year ago. An overview of the experimental capabilities, the beam properties established during commissioning and first experimental results will be presented.
