STONE SOUP COMMUNITY

DESCRIPTION: 
Stone Soup Community is a non-profit agency that works on-site at local food pantries partnering with organizations to bring additional services to patrons.  Patrons are offered emergency assistance through referral, networking, advocating and financial aid. Patrons are invited to participate in the Family Development program where volunteers offer case management while patrons assess and develop plans and goals to move toward greater stability in their lives.  Stone Soup has three sites:  First United Methodist Church in South Bend and the Penn Township Food Pantry and Albright United Methodist Church in Mishawaka. 

DAYS:  Monday through Friday

REQUIRED SKILLS:  Good listening skills and a compassionate heart

TRAINING: Training in the Iowa model of Family Development provided; ongoing two hour monthly training sessions

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
