OUR LADY OF THE ROAD DROP IN CENTER
—Sponsored by Catholic Worker
Our Lady of the Road is a day time drop in center for folks who find themselves on the street. They offer coffee, snacks, restrooms, showers, washers & dryers, for doing clothes. They offer a place for people to sit, get warm, chat, a place for people to belong. The purpose of their work has been captured in an Advent meditation written by the founder, Dorothy Day: “ It is no use saying that we are born 2000 years too late to give room to Christ… Christ is always with us, always asking for room in our hearts… And giving shelter or food to anyone who asks for it, or needs it, is giving it to Christ.”
Location: 744 South Main Street, South Bend (North of Main and Sample, on the east side of street)
Hours: Fri 8 – 12, Sat. 8 - 4 pm, Sun. 8 - 12
