Robert Wolosin
Adjunct Associate Professor
Department of Anthropology
Welcome to my home page. I
am an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Notre Dame
Anthropology Department. I teach a course called, "Cultural Aspects of
Clinical
Medicine." The number is ANTH 454. (It is crosslisted
with Science, Technology
and Values as STV 454, with Sociology as Soc 454, and with African American
Studies
as AFAM 454.) It is open to juniors and seniors who are anticipating a career
in medicine, and it features a required four hour/week internship in a local
emergency
room. The internship is designed to provide the student with a
"real-life" environment
in which to view medicine in practice. Course readings, class discussions and
outside speakers provide alternative viewpoints from which to examine clinical
medicine. The course is limited to 28 students per semester.
