Compliance: Human Subjects in Research

We have an inherent obligation to insure that the rights and well-being of those who serve as subjects in research conducted by investigators at Notre Dame are adequately protected. The University follows the Belmont Report and the Common Rule (45CFR46) in assuring that human subjects in research are fully protected. We also have an approved Assurance of Compliance on file with the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Human Research Protections.

Copies of guidelines and forms may be obtained from Dr. Rick Hilliard, Research Compliance, Graduate School Office of Research, 511 Main Building, 631-5386 or via email to Hilliard.1@nd.edu.

Guidelines for Protocol Submission for research involving the use of human subjects

Assurance of Compliance is also located in the Office of Research, or you can view it online in the Compliance Training area of our website.
