Construction Projects

The Davis Bacon Act (Pub. L.74-403) specifies that "When required by Federal grant program legislation, all laborers and mechanics employed by contractors or subcontractors to work on construction projects in excess of $2,000 financed by Federal assistance must be paid wages not less than those established for the locality of the project by the Secretary of Labor. (codified at 40 USC 276a-1 and 276a-7)."

Any construction projects requiring in excess of $2,000 of federal funds must be monitored to ensure contractors or subcontractors are in compliance with this law.

Any Principal Investigator considering applying for federal funding of construction subject to this Act must personally meet with the Director of the Office of Research for guidance prior to submission of the proposal.
