Federal Agencies
Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance
Contains detailed information on Federal programs and grants available, eligibility factors, application procedures, local contacts, etc.

Federal Register
A daily publication of regulations and legal notices issued by Federal agencies including grant announcements.

Federal Business Opportunties (formerly known as Commerce Business Daily)
A daily listing of all potential contracts which the Federal government agencies plan to award in excess of $25,000.

United States Government Manual
Official handbook of the Federal Government describing the purposes and programs of most governmental agencies and lists top personnel.

Federal Support for Nonprofits (in Resource Library)
Nearly 800 federal programs that support nonprofits are profiled including the total giving by each program.

NIH Guide to Grants and Contracts
A weekly publication from the National Institutes of Health, announcing new programs and requests for applications (RFAs). Also provides extramural policy guidance.

NSF E-Bulletin
A monthly newsletter listing deadlines for the next 4 months as well as information on National Science Foundation's new programs, policies and activities.

AAAS Report on Research and Development
An analysis of research and development in the proposed federal budget providing the research community with timely and objective information about the Administration's plans for the coming fiscal year.

Humanities (magazine in our Resource Library)
A bimonthly review published by the National Endowment for the Humanities focusing on various subjects. Includes a guide on recently awarded grants and a list of grant application deadlines.

Foundations
The Foundation Directory (in our Resource Library)
Information on more than 4,000 of the country's larger foundations including assets, names of trustees, foundation telephone numbers, grants made in year of record, statements of purposes and activities, grant application procedures, and frequency of board meetings. The directory is arranged geographically and contains subject and personal name indexes.

Taft Foundation Reporter (in our Resource Library)
A detailed compendium of data on 1,000 leading private foundations. Each foundation is profiled in outline form similar to the Taft Corporate Giving Directory. Each foundation outline includes information on the types of grants, application procedures, areas of interest, sample grants awarded, point of contact, etc. The publication also includes useful information such as foundations that award various types of grants and foundation interests listed by research areas of interest.

State Agencies
Directory of Research Grants (in our Resource Library)
A listing of over 6,000 current funding programs offered by state sources as well as federal and private sources. Grant programs are listed by keyword subjects. A description of each program and its grant sponsor is included.

Directory of Operating Grants (available in our Resource Library)
Identifies sources receptive to proposals for general operative support, or unrestricted core support.
