Below is a list of popular limited submission programs. Please notify the Office of Research immediately if you are interested in a program that is not on the list.

An email announcement will be sent out to faculty as soon as the sponsor updates program information. Faculty should follow the instructions and respond accordingly if interested in applying. The Office of Research will coordinate the submissions to ensure we do not exceed the limit. Click here for more information on the Limited Submission Internal Competition Procedures.

Dreyfus Foundation, Inc., Camille & Henry

 

NOTE: As an institution, ND can only submit one proposal to either the Camille or Henry Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award

Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award


The Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Awards Program is focused primarily on research universities and references research accomplishments to similar institutions. It is based on individual research attainment and promise, but evidence of excellence in teaching is also expected.

Henry Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award


The Henry Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Awards Program is based on accomplishments in scholarly research with undergraduates, as well as a compelling commitment to teaching but the reference is with respect to primarily undergraduate institutions.

Only two preliminary proposals may be submitted by any one organization as the lead organization.  Full proposals may be submitted by invitation only.

Nanotechnology Undergraduate Education (NUE) in Engineering

ND may submit (1) proposal as the lead institution with the following exception: A second proposal as the lead institution, only if it is focused on the societal, ethical, economic and/or environmental issues relevant to nanotechnology.

Partnerships for Innovation (PFI)

An eligible U.S. academic institution (described above) may submit only one (1) proposal as the lead institution, and may be a non-leading partner on only one (1) other proposal. An eligible U.S. academic institution or other eligible organization that is not the lead institution on any proposal may be a non-leading partner on no more than two (2) proposals.

Three (3) preliminary proposals per eligible institution.

One may participate as PI or co-PI in no more than three (3) proposal submissions. This restriction applies to both preliminary proposals and full proposals. A person listed as PI or co-PI in three proposals may serve as senior personnel in other proposals.

Presidential Awards for Excellence in Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Mentoring (PAESMEM)

Only one nomination per organization. The single nomination may be for an Individual Award or for an Organizational Award, but not for both.

NSF Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S-STEM)

An Institution may submit one proposal from each constituent school or college that awards degrees in an eligible field

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Talent Expansion Program (STEP)

An institution is allowed to submit only one Type 1 proposal, or to be part of only one consortium submitting a Type 1 proposal. There are no restrictions on the number of Type 2 proposals that an individual or organization may submit.
