Compliance

Notre Dame’s research compliance program is undertaken to insure compliance with regulations, policies, procedures, and executive orders governing sponsored research administration. The proper stewardship of federal research funds is essential
to generating new and continuing support through grants and contracts. Having an effective and comprehensive research compliance program insures a number of positive outcomes: effective management of public funds, avoidance of actual or perceived fraud or poor management, proper stewardship of University resources, and avoidance of adverse publicity.

The goal of Notre Dame’s research compliance program is
to implement a program that is responsive to the changing environment; one that addresses and mitigates risks associated with our research endeavors, and provides tools to assist in assuring compliance before those rules are externally imposed.
