NSF
Enhances Project Reports System
The
National Science Foundation is enhancing FastLane to improve tracking
and management of project report submissions. With the new system,
NSF will be able to track project requirements and submissions by award.
All active awards that are either standard grants, continuing grants,
cooperative agreements or individual fellowships will be pre-loaded
with outstanding project reporting requirements.
Office
of Research Expands Pre-Award Services
The Office of Research will be expanding their pre-award services beginning
December 1, 2006. Principal Investigators told us that their administrative
burden is overwhelming. We listened. We will be prepared to complete
the non-science components of the proposal (agency forms, budget assistance
and completion, and certifications and assurances) while the researcher
focuses on the science portions of the proposal. It will be essential
for Principal Investigators to notify us 7 days before the submission
date so that we will have plenty of time to prepare the forms, etc. Principal
Investigators have been assigned to work with a particular Research
Administrator. Each Research Administrator will be working with approximately
100 Principal Investigators. Over the next few weeks, Principal Investigators
will be contacted by their Research Administrator. The lists for Science and Engineering are
included here. The Principal Investigators in the College of Arts and
Letters will continue to work with the Institute for Scholarship in
the Liberal Arts. Those in Institutes, Centers, the School of Architecture,
the Law School, and Mendoza College of Business can contact the Office
of Research to find out their Research Administrator.

Asked Questions regarding the new services.
