Instructions for Initial INB Setup
Installing JInitiator Application and INB Security Certificate
- Windows Only (Mac users see below)
If you need to install the JInitiator Application and the INB Security Certificate, print this page and follow the directions.
- In the “INB Setup Tools” channel on insideND, click on “Install JInitiator Application.”
- A Security Alert box will appear. Answer YES to the question, “Do you want to proceed?”
- This will open a File Download box. Choose to OPEN the file rather than saving it.
- This will initiate the installation.
- From the “Choose Destination Location” window, click NEXT.
- A message box will appear: Oracle JInitiatior installation is complete. If you are using Netscape as your web browser, you will need to close and restart Netscape before using JInitiator. (If you are using Netscape, restart now. Once you have restarted, go to the next step.)
- Click OK.
- In the “INB Setup Tools” channel on insideND, click on “Install INB Security Certificate.”
- This will open a File Download box. Choose to OPEN the file rather than saving it.
- This will initiate the installation.
- A message box will appear: Notre Dame Banner Certificate Installed.
- Click OK.
You are now ready to use INB.
Instructions for Initial INB Setup - Macintosh
The OIT supports Mac OS X (10.2 and above). At this time, the only browser supported is Internet Explorer 5.2. Our vendors are working on supporting other browsers for the future.
As long as you keep your Mac up-to-date with the Software Update program and have not disabled Java from within Internet Explorer, you will be able to access the system as soon as you click on the link in insideND. If Java is disabled with Internet Explorer, you can enable it in the Internet Explorer Preferences menu.
