The following guidelines concern the most frequently raised questions in preparing manuscripts for rethinking marxism. They apply equally to articles of 7,000 words, Remarx essays of 3,000 words, book reviews of 5001,000 words, and correspondence. If you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to ask us.
Poetry and drama should be typed so as clearly to indicate lines, stanzas, and other fixed breaks. Because of the varieties of individual need, stylistic requirements for submissions of art may be determined in communication with the arts editor (also see the art submission guidelines).
The title page should include the complete article title, names of authors, and their addresses, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses. In case of any changes to these, please notify the editors.
A brief statement may be appended to the text to acknowledge others comments or other help and to note previous publication or presentation of portions of the text.
Footnotes to the text should be avoided where possible as it is preferable to make arguments and draw references within the text.
Figure captions (and legends, if any) should be typed and listed by figure number on a separate page.
Each author should submit a brief biographical statement for publication in the contributor notes. For example:
Margaret Nash: Associate professor of philosophy at the State University of New England at Birmingham. In addition to teaching philosophy, she offers a variety of interdisciplinary courses and writes on feminist philosophy and psychoanalytic theory. Her most recent book is The Gender of Philosophy (Whitewell Press, 1996).
