Fred Block.Deconstructing Capitalism as a System. RM 12(3):83-98 "Those who advocate a drastic reform of the global economic system have been quiet in their argument. The politics behind social theory have been offered as an explanation for this trend. If the current global economic system, and neoliberalism itself, is to be challenged it is essential that new strategies be devised. Intellectuals and those who currently fall victim to the present neoliberal regime must play a crucial role. The true basis of Marxism must be revitalized, not simply reworded to suit the needs of the New Left. Deconstructive politics need to be employed, and a ""third way"" (not to be confused with the visions of Bill Clinton and Tony Blair) located midway between socialism and neoliberalism must be explored. Finally, in keeping with the dictates of socialism, any and all reforms must be left open-ended. 28 References. K. A. Larsen."
