2/25/05 Notre Dame announces Cost-Per-Copy Program with
Xerox
Procurement
Services is pleased to announce that the University of
Notre Dame has entered into a five-year cost-per-copy master
contract with the Xerox Corporation for black and white
copiers. Under this new contract, all black and white copiers
are eligible to be replaced with new digital copiers (also
capable of being used as a printer).
As part of
this contract, there will be no capital cost to departments.
The benefits include access to the newest digital technology,
on-site service and support, and very competitive pricing.
This "cost
per copy" program
includes all the maintenance and supplies (including toner
and staples)
with the exception of paper.
As part of this effort, we strove to achieve the following
objectives:
- Award an exclusive black and white
digital copier contract to a single qualified vendor
to improve overall service
and accountability
- Reduce the administrative burden
and cost inefficiencies of handling over 400 separate
copier contracts, each
with individual volume reconciliation periods and
expiration dates
- Reduce the total expenditures related to
copiers and printers on campus
- Reduce the number of
brands and models currently found on campus
- Change
to a campus-wide all inclusive cost-per-copy program
to better track expenses and make available the latest
technology
- Standardize
print connectivity drivers and utilities to a single
brand; and
- Provide all faculty, staff,
and student users with optimized document
reproduction and/or transmission
solutions.
